LOS ANGELES, Calif.—When Wicked Pictures first commenced production on Brad Armstrong's acclaimed cyberpunk adventure 2040, the project was touted as utilizing "authentic props and sets from some of today's finest A-budget sci-fi films." A key component of this technical outreach was the use of lifelike creations by famed love doll innovator RealDoll to simulate some of the sexy androids featured in the story.
Now, in an adult industry first, Wicked is pleased to announce that it is taking this collaboration to the next level by partnering with RealDoll to create Wicked RealDolls: licensed high-end, fully articulated and completely realistic representations of the Wicked Girls and other top adult stars.
Since 1996, RealDoll has been using Hollywood special-effects technology to produce the most realistic love dolls in the world. The company has collaborated with A-list directors to create custom dolls for everything from the indie film Lars and the Real Girl to Surrogates, a Bruce Willis vehicle. In its partnership with Wicked, the company will be bringing the same passion and attention to detail to the Wicked RealDolls.
The line is debuting with dolls of jessica drake and Alektra Blue which will be unveiled at the Wicked/RealDoll booth during the 2010 Adult Entertainment Expo in Las Vegas, which runs Jan. 7-10. As the prime mover behind this historic collaboration, the 2010 AVN Award-nominated Brad Armstrong was keen to reveal the project's genesis.
"I had seen RealDoll products at a number of conventions over the years and always wanted to use them in a movie, but I never had a project that would utilize the dolls to their full potential," Armstrong explained. "Then came 2040, and I knew this was the perfect fit. So I approached RealDoll to use some of their dolls and body parts in the movie, and as fate would have it, they were already working on a Hollywood movie with a very similar theme—Surrogates—so they were already in 'android mode.'
"I went down to their showroom and I was amazed by the quality and vision they brought to the table," Armstrong continued. "I thought there must be a way for Wicked and Real Doll to work together, joining the best in adult entertainment with the best in doll manufacturing. I pitched Matt McMullen, the owner of RealDoll, on the idea of putting together a Wicked RealDoll line, and the rest is history. We’re incredibly excited to bring the Wicked Girls to life in doll form and let their fans enjoy them at home. I’ve seen the first two dolls and they are incredible!"
Wicked Pictures President Steve Orenstein acknowledges the contract director's role in making the ground-breaking Wicked-RealDoll collaboration possible. "I want to thank Brad Armstrong for bringing this opportunity to the table," Orenstein said. "The folks at RealDoll have always been leaders in their field. I believe the Wicked/Real Doll partnership will be a huge success. Bringing the star power of the Wicked Girls as well as other top stars in the industry together with a new generation of dolls using RealDoll's latest technology is a sure win."
For his part, RealDoll owner Matthew McMullen shares Orenstein's enthusiasm. "Working with a high-profile company like Wicked, which is known for setting industry standards, will enable me to take Realdoll to a whole new level. With our initial release of licensed Realdolls based on Wicked's entire line up of amazing contract girls, I feel that we have introduced a new era in the adult entertainment industry," McMullen opined.
"And with Wicked Pictures now acting as our liaison to the adult industry," McMullen added, "we are actively seeking additional talent to add to this exciting line of RealDolls. If you are interested in having a RealDoll made in your likeness, please contact Wicked directly at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will review your submission as a candidate for this growing line. With three decades of proven customer satisfaction and cutting-edge entertainment between Wicked and RealDoll, these incredible dolls are sure to have a huge impact on our two industries."
