Wicked's Stormy Daniels Is 'Finding Bliss' With Two Very Different Comedies

LOS ANGELES—Turns out that her fleeting senatorial campaign in Louisiana is not the only mainstream adventure embarked upon by Wicked Pictures contract star Stormy Daniels. The popular adult personality appears in Finding Bliss, opening today at Laemmle's Sunset 5 in Hollywood, Calif.

This provocative new film's Los Angeles premiere is following the DVD rollout of Partly Stormy, Daniels' latest production for Wicked as a writer, producer and director.

Described in the mainstream press as a romantic comedy that explores the adult film industry through the eyes of an idealistic 25-year-old film school graduate, Finding Bliss was written and directed by Julie Davis. The filmmaker based the semi-autobiographical film on her early career, including a year spent cutting adult videos after graduating from the American Film Institute's prestigious editing program.

This intensely personal project, which Davis developed over a period of 13 years and refers to as "my true labor of love," stars LeeLee Sobieski, whose credits include The Wicker Man, The Glass House, Never Been Kissed and Stanley Kubrick's Eyes Wide Shut.

Finding Bliss gains industry verisimilitude from the presence of Daniels, who essays a role not too distantly related to her public persona. "I basically play myself," she told Impulse magazine. "I play an adult film star named Stormy, so it wasn't much of a stretch for me. I was pleasantly surprised at how the industry was portrayed in the film, and appreciate Julie's spin on it. I really think she got it right."

Regarding her high-profile co-stars, Daniels is quick to point out that "everyone was really fun and outgoing, especially Leelee Sobieski and Jamie Kennedy. They were both very funny and curious about my industry. Jamie was surprisingly open with the nudity and honestly, if mainstream acting doesn't work out for him, I'd happily cast him in one of my movies ... if you know what I mean."

Speaking of her movies, the enterprising actress is equally pleased with Partly Stormy, a romantic comedy of a radically different stripe that she wrote, directed and starred in for Wicked Pictures. The movie showcases her performance as Adrianne Stone, a careerist who seeks love anew after getting dumped by her boyfriend and fired from her dream job as a TV weather girl. Co-starring Aaron Wilcoxxx, Brooke Belle, Eric Masterson, India Summer, Lily Paige, Marcus London and Sascha, this inventive carnal comedy is now in stores.

From the arthouses of New York and Los Angeles to the local DVD retailer, Stormy Daniels’ movies can be counted on to deliver wit and sensuality. To learn more about Finding Bliss, visit FindingBlissTheMovie.com. To learn more about Partly Stormy, visit Wicked.com.
