Founded in 1999 by Steve Scott, Third World Media is recognized in the adult industry as one of the first producers of wall-to-wall entertainment to feature authentic ethnic performers from outside the of the United States.
Third World Media's Asian producers include Asian Eyes Picture and high end feature studio Katana. Katana's movies feature known Japanese AV stars and scripted, subtitled story lines.
The company also features straight and transsexual titles shot in Brazil and Eastern Europe, as well as gay and tranny titles shot in Thailand and Black Ops, a all-Asian TS company.
The motto of the company is to "bring our consumers the best XXX authentic ethnic action from every corner of the earth" and it receives consistent positive reviews among the adult press and web sites. Third World Media considers Pretty Little Asians its flagship series for the titles it produces in the Far East, and the Pretty Little Latinas and Shemale Samba Mania as its top lines shot in Brazil.
Scott, a fluent Japanese speaker, credits the growth of his company to his extensive travels in Asia. When Third World Media entered the market, the Japanese product entering the U.S. market was produced for their home consumers and penetration was blurred, or "mosaiced" to conform with their laws. Third World Media removed the mosaics on their titles and made them more accessible to Americans with subtitles and improved production values.
The Latin titles the company produces follows the same model, with Scott making frequent travels to South America to find performers who've never been seen by American audiences. He pledges that Third World Media will never shoot movies with Asians or Latins from the U.S.

The company's current AVN nominees include Naughty Little Asians and Pretty Little Asians for AVN's Best Ethnic-Themed Series, Asian award;
Naughty Little Asians 20 and the Katana-produced feature Sexual Arts Academy also represented in the Best Ethnic-Themed Release, Asian category.

The company also continued its strong tranny showing with Little Asian Transsexuals and Shemale Samba Mania for Best Transsexual Series.
Tokyo Cream Puffs for Best Internal Series and Teen Brazil for Best Ethnic-Themed Series, Latin rounded out the company's nominations.
