Maybe I Should Send Back My Diploma
I got my bachelor's degree at New York University — specifically, the Washington Square branch of it.
Now comes word via Washington Square News, the student newspaper of my alma mater, that two-thirds of 3,000 Washington Square undergraduates polled say they'd give up the right to vote in the 2008 elections for a year's paid tuition. Twenty percent would do it just for an iPod touch.
On the other hand, 66 percent said they'd forfeit their vote for a free ride to NYU. And half said they'd give up the right to vote forever for $1 million.
I'm depressed!
