Subject: Update from SPC

Dear Supporters,

We have a few announcements for you. First, we are planning another
national anti-pornography conference for next year. The dates are June
12-14, 2009 in Boston, MA. There will be a full roster of workshops,
panel discussions and networking opportunities for activists. Mark
your calendars!

We are also discussing the possibility of doing our next slideshow
training in January 2009. This would take place in Boston as well. We
need to know your interest level to decide whether to proceed with
planning this training, so please email back if you'd like to come.

Rebecca Whisnant has been hard at work on our new slideshow, which
examines the sexualization of children in pornography and popular
culture. The slideshow has already had its first public airing and
will be ready for distribution in a few months. The material is grim,
but this is a tool we need to fight the pornographers' grip on our
culture.
A few SPC members have started their own project to give voice to
survivors of the sexual exploitation industries. Our Voices Matter is
a website showcasing the testimony of survivors. You can read about
this effort at http://www.voicesmatter.org.
Finally, don't forget to send us a notice if you are doing a
slideshow and want us to post an announcement on the SPC website.

Best,
Lierre for SPC
