Classic porn label gives back to ailing director

VCX Pledges 'Taboo American Style' Profits to Pachard Cancer Fund

LAS VEGAS - VCX president David Sutton has pledged 20 percent of this month's sales from the four-part miniseries Taboo American Style to the Henri Pachard Cancer Fund.

"Henri is one of the greatest directors this business has seen and shot some of its finest movies, not least of which is Taboo American Style," said Sutton. "He truly is someone who made the movies from the '70s and '80s - the Golden Age - continue to endure and sell 20-plus years later. We at VCX hope that Henri will pull through and beat his cancer permanently."

Organized by Bill Margold's Protecting Adult Welfare (PAW), the Henri Pachard Cancer Fund benefits the ailing director and his family. Producer Jeff Mullen of X-Play pledged a portion of proceeds from his movie Not the Bradys XXX to the fund earlier this month, and performer Amber Lynn is currently shooting a benefit movie called We Are the World XXX.

Taboo American Style starred Paul Thomas, Raven, Gloria Leonard, Taija Rae, R. Bolla, Tom Byron and Kelly Nichols. Released in 1985, the miniseries followed the success of Kirdy Stevens' Taboo and its sequels. VCX licensed the rights from Fat Dog.

Sutton hopes to see other companies donating to the cancer fund.

"If it weren't for the directors like Henri, who give so much of themselves into everything they do, this industry would be much poorer in so many ways," he said. "I'm very pleased we're able to contribute to this fund."
