LAS VEGAS—Sin City’s newest art gallery, aptly named Sin City Gallery, is celebrating its grand opening with an inaugural exhibit running Feb. 3-26 which features the work of renowned erotic photographer Steve Diet Goedde. The gallery is located off the Strip within the Arts Factory, in the heart of the 18b Arts District.
Goedde will make two public appearances at the gallery this week. Tomorrow, Friday, there will be an artist reception from 7-10 p.m. On Saturday, fans of Goedde’s work can engage him in a Q&A from noon to 2 p.m.
An announcement issued today stated, “Don't miss this exciting and rare opportunity to get up close and personal with one of the world's most known modern glamour and fetish photographers. Join us from noon to 2 p.m. inside Sin City Gallery. Seating is very limited and early arrival is encouraged.”
At first there appeared to be some uncertainty about whether both live events with Goedde were taking place, but gallery founder and curator Dr. Laura Henkel cleared up any confusion, explaining to AVN that interest in the opening and Goedde demanded adding the Saturday Q&A to the grand opening festivities.
“There was such an overwhelming response to the show,” she said, “that we added the Q&A at the last minute.”
Similar interest in shows at Sin City Gallery should continue unabated, considering the strength of upcoming exhibitions. “Events scheduled this year include collaborations with Francois Dubeau and En Masse from Montreal; a collaboration with Femina Potens Art Gallery from San Francisco; a collaboration with the Arts Factory to exhibit the artwork of John Wayne Gacy to benefit the National Center for Victims of Crime in Washington, D.C.; and, many more collaborations with artists who will entice the senses and feed the mind,” wrote Tinamarie Bernard for Examiner.com.
Sin City Gallery is located at 107 E. Charleston Blvd, No. 100, Las Vegas, NV 89104. The gallery phone number is (702) 608-2461.
