CANOGA PARK, Calif. - Los Angeles firefighters extinguished an accidental blaze early Sunday morning at Remmet Studios, the Canoga Park production facility owned by adult performer Sascha.

The fire was reported at 2:19 a.m. in studio A at 8031 Remmet Avenue, one of four units that houses a variety of sets used in adult video productions. No one was injured.

About 100 firefighters were present at the scene. Spokesman Cecil Manresa of the Los Angeles Fire Department told KABC-TV the fire may have been caused by "a heating element that failed."

"We were shooting until 10 p.m., and left the studio shortly after that," Sascha told AVN. "We don't know for sure what caused the fire, and neither does the fire department; it might have been a space heater or a microwave that was left on by mistake, but that's just my suspicion."

The fire destroyed roughly 20 percent of the building, causing an estimated $250,000 in smoke and water damage.

Two of the four stages will remain open for business while the studio undergoes repair.

"Studio D was not affected at all, and studio B just has some minor smoke damage," Sascha said. "Our computers are fine, so we didn't lose any content, thank God. We're shooting this afternoon, and we should be completely back to normal in January."

Recent projects shot at Remmet Studios include the pre-taped video segments to be screened during the 2009 AVN Awards.

"It's devastating when something like this happens, but we're keeping a positive attitude," said studio manager Robert. "We're thankful for all the support we've received from the industry over the past four years, and we hope everyone will support us now more than ever."
