Larry Flynt Talks Free Speech at Univ. of Michigan Law School
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Larry Flynt addressed a crowd of about 100 people last week at the University of Michigan Law School while he was in town for a screening of the documentary Larry Flynt: The Right to be Left Alone.

Flynt, as always, had a few things to say. The Hustler magnate believes the Bush administration has used the attacks of 9/11 to dismantle the constitution and to monger fear. He said, "In the wake of 9/11, government (did) what they always do, they try to scare you..."

Flynt also talked about his position concerning free speech. "My position is, you can scream 'fire' in a crowded theater," he said. "If someone gets hurt because of that, that's what you'll get prosecuted for."

The wheelchair-bound publisher also had a few things to say about feminists. "I just have a problem with the feminist movement..." he said.

And, of course, what would a night with Larry Flynt be without some determinedly provocative statements? On the age of sexual consent, Flynt stated it should be standardized at 16 or 17 years old.
