McCain was clear when he spoke to AVN.com about his reasons for the change. "I am not gay," he said. "It was a really big problem for me to go to work on gay sets even though I was paid an exorbitant amount of money. I was making the kind of money in one scene that it would take me a month to make in straight."
During McCain’s brief time in gay porn, he appeared in Forest Films’ Brad’s Buddies and All Worlds’ Porn Academy along with a few other productions.
McCain made to decision to come back to straight porn while he was attending this year’s XRCO Awards in Century City.
"I decided to go and if everybody told me to go away, then I would be respectful of that and I would....I went and a lot of the girls were happy that I am back so I guess it’s the right thing to do," he said.
McCain, who has previously appeared in productions for Vivid, Wicked and Hustler- including an AVN Award nominated scene in Vivid’s Bad Wives 2, wants to work in couples-oriented productions as he did in the past.
"The girls I know and the directors that I know are feature people. They want good-looking guys who have wood, who aren’t disrespectful to the girls and get their jobs done. I understand wanting to get home and I can still do the job," McCain said.
McCain was scheduled to work in a Shane’s World production today but was dropped from the scene due to a scheduling conflict.
"We were hoping that he could join us but we ended up getting someone else to come along as a last minute thing but we are definitely looking forward to hiring him in the future. For the college thing that we do, he’s great. He has a great, young look and he is a reliable performer. I am glad he has returned," Shane’s World owner Jennie Grant said of McCain.
"I have gained a lot of experience and learned a lot about the business as a whole and I have learned a whole lot more about myself. I know what I want now and I know how to be a part of this business without it exploiting me. I really want to do good work this time and I know that I can," McCain said.
