SANTA FE, N.M.—George R.R. Martin, the popular science fiction and fantasy author who penned the series A Song of Ice and Fire that served as the inspiration for the wildly popular HBO show Game of Thrones, recently spoke out about the porn parody of said show.
Game of Bones: Winter Is Cumming, created by Woodrocket.com, started airing as a series of episodes today on the website. The parody has gotten some serious mainstream press lately, for the pun-tastic name, for the dedication to creating an Iron Throne replica out of vibrators, and for a delightful trailer that features said replica. (See that on YouTube.com.)
And now the parody is getting notice from Martin himself. While appearing at the Santa Fe Film Festival earlier this week, Martin mentioned the parody during a master discussion between him and writer Kirk Ellis.
"There is an incestuous relationship at the heart of Game of Thrones and you find out about it pretty early in the first book,” he said, according to reports on IndieWire.com. “But in the porn version that they're doing they've omitted the incest because that would just be too shocking. So my books are actually dirtier than the porn version!"
It’s something that director Lee Roy Myers commented on earlier as well, when questioned if there was anything his version wouldn’t touch on.
“Yes. The whole Cersei & Jaime Lannister, brother and sister sexual relationship is taboo. At WoodRocket, we typically try and avoid incest as a running theme in porn,” he said.
The first five episodes are available to watch for free on WoodRocket.com, the website that also created the twisted adult parodies SpongeKnob SquareNuts and Porks and Recreation. Game of Bones: Winter Is Cumming features some of your favorite (and least favorite) Game of Thrones characters including a female Joffrey, a masturbating White Walker, the MILF of Dragons, and many more.
