LOS ANGELES - Georgina Spelvin, the legendary star of The Devil in Miss Jones, will read from her new memoir "The Devil Made Me Do It" next Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Book Soup in West Hollywood.
Spelvin's book is one of the most engaging porn memoirs published to date, giving a lively personal account of her entry into the business and her unexpected rise to porno chic stardom. Now happily married and retired from porn since 1979, the actress writes candidly of her struggles with alcoholism, her love life, and her thoughts on the movie that made her an X-rated star.
The in-store reading and autograph signing is a rare public appearance for the 72-year-old Spelvin. The book's vivid description of the early '70s New York porno scene and its ties to hippie culture make it a must-read for fans of Golden Age hardcore.
The event starts at 7 p.m. Book Soup is located at 8818 Sunset Blvd., W. Hollywood, CA 90069.
