The 306-page book is self-published, and "It's my baby," Canyon told AVN.com. "It took a year to write, and another six months to edit it. And re-edit it. I'm very proud of it." When asked what is in there that people didn't know about her before, Canyon said, "My childhood. The marriages and divorces. Not that I'm a victim: I was never abused sexually. I'm not woe-is-me, I loathe victims. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying 'Here are reasons why I ended up in porno.' It's not in a negative light at all."
The book is not a bid for a return to porn: "I have no desire to make another video. I've done it, I've done it again. I've had my fill," she says with a laugh. "I've always had a relationship with my fans. Not sexual, but there's always contact. On the road, we'd go out to eat between shows. These people, in their own way, love me. And I give as much as I can without crossing my own personal lines."
"I don't know what's going to happen next. I'm just enjoying it."
