Carmen Luvana Shoots for Third Degree Films

A Contract Star on a One-Time Loan-Out

Carmen Luvana Shoots for Third Degree Films
CHATSWORTH, Calif. - We would have been surprised to find Carmen Luvana at work on a Third Degree Films set if we hadn’t already known that the Adam & Eve exclusive was there as a one-shot loan-out.

In a reciprocal talent exchange, Courtney Cummz, contracted to Zero Tolerance, Third Degree’s parent company, went to Adam & Eve to co-star with Luvana in Eden, their upcoming Hawaii-shot blockbuster.

And now, in a hillside house in Encino, Carmen is fulfilling her part of the bargain in Dreamgirlz, directed by Mike Quasar. Chaperoned by A&E publicist Mischa Allen, she’s preparing to shoot the box cover, joined by fellow hotties Bree Olson and Amy Ried. Just out of makeup, she looks gorgeous as usual, with perhaps a bit of extra tan thanks to two weeks in Hawaii.

“I haven’t worked for another company in so long,” she tells AVN. “But all the girls in this movie are hot. Bree does incredible scenes.” Luvana says she couldn’t be happier about the trade-off with Cummz. “I only just met Courtney in Hawaii, but she’s super-sweet. She did so great for us in Eden. Our scene together was the hottest girl-girl I’ve ever done. It was on the beach, and we were coming out of the water, almost like mermaids. I was so turned on, it didn’t feel like work.”

It was one of Luvana’s three sex scenes in the big-budget island adventure. She rejoined Cummz for a threeway with French actor Jean Val Jean, in a lush forest high in the mountains.

Her boy-girl one-on-one was with Jerry, one of her preferred partners. “I always request him,” she says of the Czech-born actor. It took place on a yacht, which should have been bliss, except that “everybody got seasick — the whole crew.”

The Eden shoot was hard, she says, because actors and crew were always “on the run” to picturesque but far-flung natural locations. Often they’d have to dodge buses of tourists driving through to see the sights but not the sex.

Luvana is no stranger to travel. Every two months or so, she commutes from her home in Florida to wherever Adam & Eve is shooting — Chatsworth, Waikiki or points beyond.

She’s happy living in the Sunshine State. It’s close to her native Puerto Rico, which she visits three times a year, and it’s on the water. “My passion is being on the beach. L.A.’s just not me,” she smiles. “But the work is here.”

When not in front of the camera, she feature-dances once a month at clubs around the country, works all the adult conventions and promotes the company at Adam & Eve store openings, recently a new one in Massachusetts.

Up next for Luvana with Adam & Eve is a new Interactive title, which she says will improve on the first one she did, Get Off With Carmen Luvana.“It was a first-time [interactive] director, and there were technical difficulties.” This time, she promises, it’ll all be done right, with tracks in English and Spanish.

Like many big stars, Luvana plans to segue into directing. She’ll make her debut behind the camera on a movie scheduled to start production in late summer, with Andre Madness as co-director. “I have the ideas, but I want an expert with me,” she says.

Now, though, she’s focusing on Dreamgirlz. It’s a departure for Third Degree, their first vignette-style movie, with story set-ups in each scene, aimed specifically at their newly expanding broadcast market.

Luvana’s scene is actually a double departure: the first time a condom has ever been seen in a Zero Tolerance movie. The star is condom-only, no matter where she works, and that goes for her scene with Manuel Ferrara, to be shot later in the day at a different location.

The setup, she says, deals specifically with condom use. Carmen plays a stripper who goes home with a club patron; as perfect strangers, they decide it might be wise to practice safer sex. Having worked with Ferrara once before, she’s looking forward to the rematch.

After that it’s back to Florida for some beach time before a new dancing gig, followed by a return to home base, Adam & Eve.
