American Cinematheque to Host Gary Graver Memorial

On Sunday, Jan. 21 at 2 p.m., the American Cinematheque at Hollywood's famous Egyptian Theater will host a memorial tribute to filmmaker Gary Graver. Known in the adult industry as Robert McCallum, the prolific cinematographer and director passed away Nov. 16 after a long battle with cancer.

Under the McCallum name, Graver's X-rated directorial credits included such acclaimed titles as 3 A.M. and Amanda By Night. Professionally, Graver preferred to keep his X-rated work separate from his mainstream movie career; as a cameraman, he worked with directors ranging from exploitation legend Al Adamson (Satan's Sadists) to Orson Welles (with whom Graver collaborated on several projects including the unfinished The Other Side of the Wind.)

The American Cinematheque memorial will feature testimonials from friends, family and colleagues and rare film clips. Admission is free and open to the public. Graver's wife Jillian has encouraged all of the late filmmaker's adult industry friends and acquaintances to attend.

The Egyptian Theater is located at 6712 Hollywood Boulevard, between Las Palmas and McCadden, just east of Highland Avenue in Hollywood.
