Adultcon 12 attracted the largest fan turnout in its six-year history this past weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Stars such as Tera Patrick and Ron Jeremy helped close the three-day show on Sunday, keeping the crowds lively and entertained.
"This is blowing me away. This wasn't expected," said Adultcon president Renaud West. "This was our first three-day show. We started in a little 4,000 square foot room at the airport three weeks after 9-11 and it went from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Six hundred people showed up and we were happy. To get it to grow like this and to get the porn industry to support it, it's tough. This is a small, close-knit business...it feels good to be accepted and to make something grow no matter what business you're in."
West continued, "The thing we're most proud of is we're giving these porn stars a place to meet all their fans. If they share a booth, it's 25 bucks a day. And the fans are happy. They're getting a free embroidered shirt, a calendar and a $5 chip with their admission."
Some 50 exhibitors, including Erotique Entertainment, Lemayzing Enterprises, X-Hale Glass, Spearmint Rhino and Extenze, joined a variety of adult entertainers at the venue. Among the adult stars spotted were Alexis Amore, Tera Wray, Teanni Kai, Tommy Gunn, Sunny Lane, Brooke Banner, Dee, Puma Swede, Cherokee, Lux Kassidy, Kat, Avy Lee Roth, Sophie Dee, Sandy Simmers, Gwen Diamond, Jack Lawrence, Satine Phoenix, Sydnee Steele, Lynn LeMay, Victoria Sin, Lori Lust and Lyla Lei, in addition to numerous others.
Patrick, who was accompanied by Teravision CEO Evan Seinfeld, told AVN she enjoyed her experience.
"This is the second Adultcon I've done and it was lot of fun. It's great for me to meet so many of my fans and a lot of people I haven't met before," Patrick said. "I put a DVD in just about everybody's hands and that was my goal."
Patrick handed out copies of Reign of Tera 2, Teradise Island: Anal Fever, Fashion Underground and Desperate.
The next Adultcon is scheduled for September. Visit www.adultcon.com for more information.
