WhyPark offers domain name owners tools for generating traffic with basic websites, managing a domain portfolio, and also buying and selling domain names.
According to TechCrunch the purchase price of three-year-old, Ohio-based WhyPark has not been revealed.
WhyPark provides a means for domain owners to take advantage of landing pages filled with ads for content-driven sites and competed with Parked.com in offering ways to monetize a parked domain name.
The difference was that WhyPark charged a $99 set-up fee and decade-old Parked.com is free to users. WhyPark will now also shift to free usage and also includes Parked's top ad feed, semi-monthly payments and multiple payment options. Both sites, operating separately, but under the same company umbrella, will compete with the much-larger Web parking spot Sedo.
"Now that we have Parked.com's expertise in monetizing traffic as part of WhyPark, we were able to change our business model to allow free access to our platform," founder Craig Rowe told DomainNameWire.

Parked.com was founded by the owners of domain registry directNIC.com.
