In 2002, Visa International instituted new rules and regulations for international regions in relationship to how Internet payment service providers and sponsored merchants would be permitted to accept VISA transactions. Unfortunately, these rules and regulations left the majority of Canadian-based merchants with limited or no options for processing their Visa transactions.
"The past few years have been challenging for Canadian-based online merchants, especially since such a strong percentage of all Internet sales are on the Visa network," said Ron Cadwell, CEO of CCBill. "In keeping with our ongoing mission to provide our clients with the most valuable and secure global payment solutions, we continued to diligently search for a viable Visa processing solution for our Canadian-based merchants. Now, thanks to CCBill, Canadian-based online merchants no longer have to miss out on this huge revenue potential."
