The auction was conducted by Moniker.com, which has held similar auctions at the past several Internext events.
Open to attendees of Internext, as well as bidders who signed up to participate online, more than 180 domain names were offered during the auction. Aside from BJ.com, other big sellers were FuckIt.com for $19,000, IQ.net for $17,000 and Shemales.net for $60,000. The domain Shemales.com sold at last year's Internext domain auction for $520,000.
Also offered up for sale was PornosTube.com, which was released from Moniker.com's inventory. All proceeds from that sale - which totaled $350 from an online bidder - will be donated to the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection.
"We've generated close to $15,000 in three auctions to benefit ASACP," said Monte Cahn, founder and CEO of Moniker.com.
While the live auction concluded Friday, the online auction continues through Aug. 14. An additional 2,000 to 3,000 domains also are available online. For more information, visit Moniker.com.
