Darklady's Empire of Pleasure Scheduled for New Year's Eve

The party represents a new direction for Portland's Village Ballroom.

PORTLAND, Ore. - Darklady's Empire of Pleasure, a New Year's Eve celebration of all things pansexual, will take place from 7 p.m. Dec. 31 to 2 a.m. Jan. 1 at the Village Ballroom in Portland, Ore. According to the political, social and sexual activist and creative impresario of Darklady Productions Inc., the night will be "a loving indulgence of the senses."

 

"The management of the Village Ballroom and I want to turn the historic building into a sex-positive community center for Portland, so an ambition like that deserves a New Year's Eve party that shares its grandeur," she told GAYVN.com. "What better way to welcome 2009 and the hope it holds than by indulging our senses with a delicious Mediterranean meal, great music and an erotic sea of pansexual humanity?"

 

Darklady's Empire of Pleasure will "pay homage to days past, present and future that shape us," according to Darklady.

 

The lineup is eclectic, to say the least: A full bar will be offered, as will a "welcoming invocation" (which Darklady said isn't at all what one might imagine the word "invocation" to invoke), spankings from naughty Santa, an S&M play space, a sensual "rubitorium" with wandering minstrel, massage table, sex swing, monkey rocker, tasty treats from The Naughty Baker, personal appearances by adult models like COLT Studio's Ty Hudson, a $5 photo portrait booth by Robert York Photography, candid shots by Bryan, Grimes Audio ambiance by DJs Darknezzz and Emok, birthday fantasies for December's celebrants and a countdown to midnight, complete with a rousing rendition of Auld Lang Syne on the hour.

 

Big Teaze Toys, Topco Toys, Taboo Video and the Stockroom have promised to provide giveaways that will tempt even the stodgiest attendees, Darklady said.

 

Admission is $65 per person in street clothes or $35 each in costume, fetish wear or dressy attire. Those who bring a pet-care item or human dry good or hygiene product to donate to Esther's Pantry will receive $5 off admission.

 

All admission tickets include an all-you-can-eat Mediterranean buffet provided by Rumpspankers. All attendees must be 21 or older.
