AVN’s Mark Kernes to Provide Daily Stagliano Trial Updates

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Veteran adult industry legal reporter Mark Kernes will be attending John Stagliano’s upcoming trial on obscenity charges and will be filing daily updates on AVN.com.

Evil Angel owner Stagliano’s trial is expected to last two weeks and begins tomorrow with jury selection in Washington, D.C.

Kernes, known as the dean of adult industry legal reporters, has been covering the adult entertainment industry since AVN’s fourth issue in May 1983. Prior to joining AVN he was a court reporter for 19 years in the Philadelphia and Media, Pa. areas.

Kernes has covered scores of legal issues as they have affected the adult entertainment industry, including obscenity, zoning laws, porn tax bills, free speech issues, performer safety, 2257 and many others.

Daily updates from Stagliano’s trial are expected to post in the late afternoon or early evening on days when court is in session.

Stagliano and his companies, Evil Angel Productions and John Stagliano Inc., are charged with seven counts of illegal possession, distribution and the sale of two adult videos sent through the mail, Milk Nymphos 5 and Storm Squirters 2—and the internet trailer of a third video, Fetish Fanatic 5.

Stagliano faces a maximum of 32 years in jail and $7 million in fines if convicted on all counts.

Aware and informed Patrons of Adult Entertainment overwhelming care. Unfortunately, Porn is still TABOO in many sects of society. SIR JOHN STAGLIANO is the most Beloved Director in the History of Adult Entertainment. Many are supporting SIR JOHN STAGLIANO on Adult DVD Talk.com by making financial donations to his Defense via Defend Porn.org. As citizens not much we can say or do except give the justice system a chance to work in SIR JOHN's Favor. To my knowledge, the 7 charges against SIR JOHH has been given No airtime in D.C. Probably for the Best. I live in D.C. and plan on attending the Trial to Support My GOD, Idle, and Hero if his Trial is Public. Last summer I missed the hearing and arraignment due to weather conditions and prior commitments. GOD BLESS THE KING, SIR JOHN STAGLIANO, and EVIL ANGEL.

Thank you Mark... Sad that many people in the industry don't know or care about this. This IS a big deal!
